Number Two – SIG SAUER P226 Pellet Pistol
A second pellet-firing SIG Air pistol in this list is a good, functional version of the P320 firearm. Its size, weight and trigger pull make it ideal as a training piece for the P226 firearm. It is also suitable for plinking and general recreational shooting.
The shot count is good, as is muzzle velocity. And the unique SIG SAUER cam lever system for loading CO2 cartridges is outstandingly easy to use. This P226 scored 73% in its Hard Air Magazine test review.

Number Three – SIG SAUER P320 M17
The SIG Air P320 M17 air pistol is the latest and best pellet-firing air pistol from SIG SAUER.
It’s an outstanding replica of the US Army P320-M17 sidearm. There’s a strong blowback, drop-free magazine and it field strips realistically. CO2 cartridge loading is the easiest there is, due to SIG’s cam-loading system. Shot count was very good on test, as was accuracy.
Overall, the SIG SAUER P320 M17 air pistol easily wins a HAM Silver Award. It will make many owners very happy!

Number 4 – Weihrauch HW44
The HW44 is the only PCP pistol in the list. Furthermore, the HW44 is the only “traditional” air pistol in that it’s not CO2-powered firearms replica.
For the money, you receive a superlative trigger, great accuracy with a wide range of pellets and a very interesting multi-shot, regulated, side lever PCP air pistol. It won an easy Gold Award in its HAM test review.

In Fifth Position – SIG SAUER P320
SIG Air dominates Hard Air Magazine’s 2019 top ten most popular air pistol reviews with five models. That’s a clear testimony to the brand power and widespread interest in SIG products.
The SIG SAUER P320 ASP CO2 pistol is a good shooting training tool for users of the P320 firearm. Its overall size, weight, balance and handling are strong suits. It’s also accurate, shoots to the point of aim with BBs and light pellets and is sufficiently powerful for the intended use.
Last year, the P320 was just a nose ahead of the third place P226 in this ranking. This year it’s just a little behind. But they’re still close! The P320 scored a creditable 81% in its HAM review.

Is it a pistol or a rifle? The HAM Team struggled to decide. In the end we ranked it in the 2019 top ten most popular air pistol reviews as that’s how the Wehrmacht saw it. MP stands for Maschinen Pistole (machine pistol) in German, of course.
This is a very accurate replica of the iconic German MP40 submachine gun, one of the coolest-looking subguns ever manufactured. Shooting it gives maximum smiles per minute, particularly on full auto…
We loved it and this CO2-powered MP40 won an easy HAM Gold Award.

Number Seven – Umarex Legends P08 Blowback
HAM Publisher Stephen Archer loves Lugers – and the Umarex Legends P08 is no exception! This is an extremely accurate replica of a regular, WWII-era P08. The blowback action is great, in spite of using a lot of CO2 to make it happen. It’s a HAM Silver Award winner.

Number Eight – SIG SAUER 1911 We The People
Another outstanding CO2-powered, BB-firing replica of a custom 1911 SIG firearm! And a Silver Award winner in the Hard Air Magazine 2018 top ten most popular air pistol reviews.
In HAM Publisher Stephen Archer’s personal opinion is that this is the best SIG SAUER ASP pistol to date. As with the P08 blowback, he’ll sacrifice a little accuracy and shot count for the great additional realism…

Number Nine – Smith & Wesson 586
The S&W 586 is an oldie but a goodie. This pellet-firing CO2-powered firearms replica is the only wheel gun in HAM’s 2018 top ten most popular air pistol reviews.
Great accuracy, good shot count, fine finish and adjustable sights are other attractions of this German-made gun.
If you’re plinking soda cans or shooting paper targets, the S&W 586 air pistol is a solid choice. It’s far from the cheapest air pistol available, but you won’t regret spending a little extra this time!
It won a HAM Bronze Award with a 90% score and was only held back by its relatively high price.

Number Ten – SIG SAUER 1911 Max Michel
HAM liked this pistol and found it a useful training tool for shooters at all levels. It also stands squarely as a fun plinker and BB pistol. Sadly, it’s currently not available for sale.
The price was outstanding for an air pistol of this quality. As a BB-firing version of the tricked out firearm used by SIG Shooting Team Captain Max Michel, it was a cool $1602.01 cheaper than the firearm and yet – apart from the ammunition – really tough to tell the difference! It’s a HAM Gold Award for SIG…
