Here’s the first Umarex Hammer night hunting video we’ve seen. In this video from the Real Airgun Hunting YouTube channel, Steve Criner takes this .50 caliber PCP out for a night hunt in West Texas.

His target – a giant bobcat.

Steve shoots a hand cast 330 Grain bullet from the Hammer. It’s traveling at about 900 FPS. He calls the Bobcat in and you’ll see the result. As Steve tells us, this has never been done on video before!

The aim of the Real Airgun Hunting Channel is also to give airgun hunters practical advice that they can use in their own hunting.

For more information on the Real Airgun Hunting channel and where to find it, check out this previous post in HAM.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

VALUE FOR MONEY

The Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is a fully-functional replica of the 1911 pistol. It combines a strong blowback action and fair shot count with outstanding realism.

With a current Street Price of $109.99, the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is up against many other high quality replica BB pistols at a similar price. In this market, the standards are amazingly high for such low prices. Yet the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol still offers great value for anyone wanting a 1911-type firearms replica air pistol.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

REALISM – LOOKS AND FEEL

The level of realism displayed by the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is truly exceptional. Looks, weight, handling and feel are all identical to a 1911A1 firearm. Operation is also identical, with functional slide release, manual safety, grip safety and magazine release.

One valuable feature that’s by no means universal on CO2-powered blowback pistols is that the slide locks back when the magazine is empty. Again, exactly like the firearms original, of course.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

This is an all metal gun, only the grips are plastic. It certainly feels very good in the hand, handling and pointing just like the firearm.

To be very picky, the black grips of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol  are not commonly seen on black frame 1911s. Wood-effect, or at least brown grips would be closer to the “real thing”.

While the trigger and hammer are exactly as found on the Colt Commander firearm, the overall length of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is not the same as the Commander firearm. This BB pistol is 8 1/2-inches long – that’s the same as the regular Government Model. The firearm Colt Commander is 7 3/4-inches long.

So the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol  is not really correctly named. And the silver printing on the slide and frame stand out too much – as they do with just about all BB-firing replica air pistols. But that’s a fairly small price to pay given the outstanding overall realism in looks and feel demonstrated by this air pistol.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

The CO2-tightening screw is also very well concealed in the base of the drop-free magazine, even if it does require an Allen (hex) wrench to open it.

Umarex does not claim that the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is field-strippable. However, it certainly looks like it should be and other products from the same manufacturer certainly are. But when Stephen Archer tried, he could not rotate the barrel bushing far enough clockwise to release the recoil spring – as would be the case with a 1911 firearm. Maybe this is just technique, maybe there’s an issue with this gun, or maybe he just needs to try an alternative technique….

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

ACCURACY AND POINT OF IMPACT

Accuracy of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol tested by HAM was generally “minute of soda can” good, at 6 yards. As the test targets below show, the pistol fired reasonably close to the point of aim. This is important as the sights are non-adjustable.

The point of impact was slightly to the right of dead center with most of the pellets tested. It was rather higher with most of the pellets, however.

Best accuracy was demonstrated using Crosman Copperhead BBs in the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol tested by HAM. However, the accuracy at 10 yards sadly fell outside the soda can, as you can see.

Overall, accuracy was not the best we have tested in a BB pistol. It is, however, good enough for use in its intended purpose of training, practice and plinking.

COMPARISON TO MAKERS CLAIMS

Maximum Muzzle Velocity for the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol tested by HAM was an average of 283 FPS over 10 shots with Daisy Avanti BBs. As this testing was undertaken at a fairly cool 60 degrees F temperature, the FPS is lower than might be expected.

Extensive HAM testing has shown that FPS with CO2-powered guns increases by 2 FPS per degree F, this means that the Muzzle Velocity of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol will match the manufacturer’s claim of 325 FPS at 84 Degrees Farenheit.

As mentioned above, the claimed name is not a correct match for the Colt Commander firearm. However, most owners will probably not care about this.

CONSISTENCY

The Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol tested by HAM demonstrated good consistency. The trigger pull weight varied by a maximum of only 3 Ounces either side of the 4 Lbs 8 Oz average figure.

Muzzle Velocity was also consistent in the 275 – 285 FPS range at 60 degrees F, irrespective of the BBs fired. And Standard Deviation – the statistical measurement of FPS variability in a string – was also very consistent at just 6 FPS. That’s a figure that many regulated PCP air rifles would be proud of!

Accuracy was also consistent with around 2-inch, 10-shots groups at 6 Feet – all except for the Crosman Copperheads which gave a tighter result.

REALISM – TRIGGER AND ACTION

The trigger has a very similar feel to that of a Colt 1911 firearm. And the pull weight is also just about identical at an average of almost 4 Lbs 8 Oz. The semiautomatic, single action operation is a great replica of the firearm. HAM Tester Doug Wall noted, “The trigger is right on.”

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

But it’s clear that the designers concentrated on making the blowback action the most significant element of realism for this air pistol. They certainly succeeded with that! But let’s talk a little about what they gave up in return…

As CO2-powered air pistols all use a standard 12 Gram CO2 cartridge for their power, they all have the same total amount of power available for use. This might be obvious, but it means that designers make choices about how they use that available power.

That 12 Grams of CO2 has to propel the BB (or pellet) at a claimed maximum FPS, operate the blowback (if fitted) and then give a certain number of shots per fill. This means that non-blowback CO2-powered BB pistols generally have a higher shot count and FPS than blowback models, because there’s no demand for CO2 to operate the blowback action.

There’s no question that the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol has an exceptional blowback. This is a heavy slide and it has a very long travel for maximum realism. Given that the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol has a reasonable shot count for a blowback CO2 pistol, that inevitably means there’s no way the FPS can be high with this gun – particularly as there’s a fair amount of CO2 lost when the blowback operates – you can feel it on your hands and face!

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

Let’s explore this by comparing the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol against two other excellent replica air pistols. The M&P40 comes from the same factory as the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol and has a very similar valve system. The SIG SAUER 1911 is from a different manufacturer, with a different design.

ModelSlide TravelTested Max Muzzle velocityTested Shots/FillCountry of Origin
Colt Commander45 mm283 FPS64Taiwan
SIG SAUER 1911 Max Michel32 mm349 FPS70Japan
M&P 4035 mm302 FPS46Taiwan

It’s clear from this comparison that the designers of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol made different performance choices from those selected by the designers of the SIG SAUER 1911 Max Michel, for example. Gaining an extra 13 mm of travel from that heavy slide cost 66 FPS and 4 shots per fill.

Comparing the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol to the M&P40 from the same factory shows that 10 extra mm of slide travel (against the M&P40’s lighter slide) cost 19 FPS, although they also gained an additional 18 shots per fill.

What’s the best result? That’s entirely your choice as a customer. We just need to recognize that no single CO2-powered replica air pistol is going to have the best blowback, highest shot count and best FPS all in one package. That’s clean against the laws of physics!

SHOT COUNT

The Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol tested by HAM gave a total of 64 shots from one 12 Gram CO2 cartridge. This is a decent shot count for a blowback BB pistol, particularly for one so dedicated to realistic blowback operation as this gun is.

Muzzle Velocity was still over 200 FPS – actually 206 FPS – at shot 61. This was down from 280 FPS for the first shot, but dropped off very rapidly after this. So, you’ll probably want to think of changing CO2 after three magazines of 19 BBs each.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

MUZZLE VELOCITY

As discussed, Muzzle Velocity for the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is fairly low compared to that claimed for other BB-firing blowback pistols. The tested FPS results are shown below, but please also note the low ambient temperature of 60 degrees F and the notes in the Comparison To Makers Claims section above.

BBsAverage Muzzle VelocityAverage Muzzle EnergyAccuracy
Crosman Copperhead 5.13 Grain278 FPS0.88 Ft/LbsVery Good. Best Tested.
Umarex Steel 5.29 Grain274 FPS0.88 Ft/LbsGood.
ASG Blaster 5.32 Grain282 FPS0.94 Ft/LbsGood.
Hornady Black Diamond 5.36 Grain279 FPS0.93 Ft/LbsGood.
Daisy Avanti 5.44 Grain283 FPS0.97 Ft/LbsGood.

As with all CO2-pistols, rapid fire will cause the CO2 to cool and FPS to drop. If you can bring yourself to shoot this Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol fairly slowly, you will be rewarded with more consistent velocities and avoid possible vertical stringing on the target.

APPEARANCE AND FINISH

Appearance and finish of the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is very good indeed. All external parts are perfectly cast and/or machined. As usual with CO2-powered replica pistols, metal finish is by powder-coating rather than bluing. However, this is not a major issue and bluing would almost certainly require a significant increase in the price of the gun.

The barrel has an attractive chrome-effect finish which offsets the overall black color scheme well.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

BUYING AND OWNING

The Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol is readily available from the usual sources including Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot. It is also available at some big box sporting goods retailers, as is apparent from the clam shell plastic packaging.

As usual with Umarex products, the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol has a very short 90-day limited warranty. However, as the valve assembly in built into the drop-free magazine, this means that valve issues – should they occur – can be fixed by buying a replacement spare magazine.

The Umarex Owner’s Operation Manual supplied with the gun give information in English, French and Spanish. It’s clear and well-illustrated. However, it advises that BBs be load through the top of the magazine. HAM found this was only possible if each BB was forced down into the magazine using a screwdriver blade!

The easier way is to pull the BB follower right down, then pour the BBs into the opening created. This is a much quicker and easier method of loading BBs into the Colt Commander CO2 BB pistol.

Colt Commander CO2 BB Pistol Review

SAFETY FIRST. As with all BB-firing airguns, it’s necessary to wear shooting glasses when firing this airgun. Also do not shoot at hard surfaces or water. BBs tend to bounce off these surfaces and may hit you, or something other than what you intended. If in doubt, don’t pull the trigger! Due to the realistic appearance of this product, handle it as you would a firearm. Do not display it in public or in any place where it could be mistaken for a cartridge firearm.

Benjamin Desiccant Kit – An Essential Upgrade For Your Hand Pump

$

0

The Benjamin Desiccant Kit is absolutely essential if you are using a Benjamin Hand Pump to fill your PCP airgun with high pressure air!

The purpose of a desiccant is to remove water – in the form of moisture – that’s naturally present in the air. If this moisture is introduced into an airgun at high pressure it can – make that WILL – corrode the internal parts. This corrosion then causes leaks, often requiring an expensive reseal…

There’s a ton of Benjamin Hand Pumps out there being used to fill Marauders, Discoveries and other PCP air rifles. If you are using one you really need to buy the Benjamin Desiccant Kit and install it onto your hand pump.

The Benjamin Dessicant Kit simply screws into the base of a Benjamin hand pump, replacing the sintered air filter. Two packs of silica desiccant granules are included in the kit. Use one pack at a time in the housing.

Benjamin Desiccant Kit - An Essential Upgrade For Your Hand Pump

Because desiccant material loses effectiveness as it absorbs moisture, it should be changed regularly. Typically this would be every 3 – 4 months. However it depends on how much use you make of the pump and the general level of humidity where you live.

So, if you live near the coat in Florida, you will need to change the desiccant more often than if you live in dry Las Vegas, for example.

Fortunately the Desiccant material in the kit helps you with this. When it’s dry it’s white. As it absorbs moisture the color changes to pink. When pink, it’s full of moisture.

The desiccant material can be re-used. It simply requires drying out in an oven! The instructions packed with the kit give you all the information you need.

So using the Benjamin Desiccant Kit to reduce the moisture entering your PCP when hand pumping makes a lot of sense. In the long term it’s a much better alternative than having your PCP air rifle damaged by moisture and needing a reseal!

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

Today Hard Air Magazine brings you an exclusive first look at the new Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle!

This full auto BB-firing, licensed DPMS SBR (Short Barrel Rifle) was first revealed at the 2018 SHOT Show. And visitors to the 2018 NRA annual meeting will have the chance to shoot one at the Pyramyd Air airgun range at the show.

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

The gun we’re seeing here is a pre-production version of the Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle, so there may be a few changes between this and the final production version. However, this is clearly very close to a final model.

Of course, the highlight of this BB gun is the full auto capability. Crosman claims over 1,400 rounds per minute on full auto. HAM has no way to measure this, but the “rock and roll” selling certainly gives a very high cyclic rate. It also brings a big smile to the face and exhausts the 40-shot BB capacity of the magazine in record time!

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

The magazine of the Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle holds the 40 BBs in addition to two 12 Gram CO2 Powerlets. These 12 Gram CO2 cylinders need to be loaded with the left one first, as there’s a check valve in the magazine that’s activated by this Powerlet and not the other.

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

And, yes, the Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle can be fired semi-auto also. Firing in single shot mode does give a surprisingly strong blowback effect. But – for this very brief first look – HAM Publisher set the selector on full auto for most of his shooting.

The Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle is equipped with removable open battle sights. However we removed these and fitted a Leapers UTD red dot sight for this fun shooting session.

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

Overall feel of the Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle is very substantial and heavy. It definitely feels like “the real thing”, even though it’s not – so far as we’re aware – a replica of a specific DPMS firearm model.

Exclusive First Look At The New Crosman DPMS SBR Full Auto BB Rifle

Crosman Product Manager Philip Guadalupe – himself a Marine vet – explained to me that a regular AR15-type pistol grip can be fitted. He also instantly demonstrated how easy it is to field strip the gun – obviously he can do that with his eyes closed, as you would imagine!

Hard Air Magazine will be bringing you a full, comprehensive test review of the Crosman DPMS SBR full auto BB rifle in the near future once full production versions are available. That’s something definitely to look forward to!!!

Visitors to the 2018 NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Dallas will be able to see three new SIG SAUER airguns. These are the ASP20 break barrel air rifle, 1911 We The People BB Pistol and X-Five ASP Air Pistol.

That’s a CAD (Computer Assisted Design) rendering of the ASP20’s revolutionary trigger mechanism in our heading photograph, above.

They will be among the many airguns on display in the SIG SAUER booth (#6220) this weekend.

Available in .177 and .22 calibers, the highly anticipated ASP20 features the airgun industry’s most advanced trigger system, claims the manufacturer. SIG SAUER also says that it and delivers down-range power and accuracy with the lightest cocking effort in its class, making it ideal for hunting small game.

The ASP20 models are the first new SIG SAUER airguns to be built at SIG SAUER’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in New Hampshire. Many of the company’s firearms technologies were used in the design and production of this impressive break barrel air rifle.

“The new SIG SAUER airguns are excellent training tools and a lot of fun to shoot, and we welcome NRA members and their families to the SIG SAUER booth to check out our latest offerings like the 1911 We The People BB Pistol, X-Five ASP pellet pistol and ASP 20,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of the SIG SAUER Airgun Division.

“The ASP20 is unique – a true game changer in the break barrel market with its unrivaled trigger system and GlideLite cocking mechanism which cocks the ASP20 at 33 Lbs. versus the standard 48-52 Lb. cocking rate typically found in break barrels in this power range. We are also offering it with a SIG SAUER WHISKEY3 ASP 4-12×44 Adjustable Objective riflescope.”

NRA members who are eager to get in a little target practice during the weekend can visit Pyramyd Air’s indoor airgun range in Ballroom C of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center where the SIG SAUER MPX ASP air rifle will be available to shoot.

The Pyramyd Air range is open from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5. On Sunday, May 6, the range will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Admission is free and NRA safety officers will be on hand to help youths and others who might need assistance on the range.

There’s a Bill in the New York State Senate that aims to prohibit schools from having marksmanship and/or shooting programs. It’s Assembly Bill A10428.

It “Establishes that public schools shall prohibit marksmanship and/or shooting programs.” This applies to any type of marksmanship or shooting, including with airguns.

If this Bill passes, it will clearly effect airgun sports in schools and maybe other youth programs.

Please tell others about this issue and…

If you feel strongly about this either way and are a New York State resident, please voice your opinion to your representative via this web page. It takes two minutes and is very easy to do.

Umarex USA has announced their attendance at the National Rifle Association’s 147th Annual Meeting and Exhibits May 4-6 in Dallas, Texas. Attendees are encouraged to stop by Booth #8020 to visit.

Umarex USA welcomes attendees to enjoy a hands-on experience with Umarex’s cutting edge airguns. The Pyramyd Air airgun range during the show will allow show participants the opportunity to shoot four different Umarex Airguns including the Umarex Gauntlet and Colt Peacemaker.

Attendees can also sign-up at booth #8020 to win Umarex Airguns in the daily giveaways.

Umarex USA asks attendees to stop by their booth to see the world’s most powerful production air rifle: the Umarex Hammer. This regulated .50 caliber PCP air rifle fires 575 grain pellets and is changing the way people think about hunting with airguns, says the company.

Also, new for 2018 is the announcement that Umarex has become an official licensee of GLOCK, the world’s most popular pistol manufacturer. Umarex will produce airgun and airsoft versions of the beloved GLOCK 17 and GLOCK 19 pistols that mirror the form and function of the iconic originals.

To cap off the show experience, Umarex USA will have a storefront where attendees can purchase Big Blast Caps, the popular and simple reactive target made for all shooters, and the officially licensed NRA Edition Colt Peacemaker.

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM – Part One.

Bob Beckwith has been the CEO of Crosman since June 2017. In this exclusive interview he talks to Hard Air Magazine Publisher Stephen Archer about the company and his plans for its future.

Hard Air Magazine: Bob, it’s great to see you again! You’ve been CEO for nearly a year now, but I know you’ve worked for Crosman for a long time. Can you tell us about your background in the company?

Bob Beckwith: Steve, it’s a pleasure! I started working for Crosman in July 1999. With a qualification as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), it’s been natural for me to work in the Finance side of the business. But I’ve always had a much wider interest in the company than that. I’ve been heavily involved with broader issues in management, sales, marketing and manufacturing over the years. My Dad ran his own business and that gave me an interest in how a company works.

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM - Part One.

Hard Air Magazine: Are you a shooter?

Bob Beckwith: Of course! I’m proud to say that my first air rifle was a Crosman 766 – the first version of what is now the 2100. I started shooting with my Dad and progressed to getting my Merit Badge as an Eagle Scout with 22s. Today I prefer shooting airguns – I can shoot at home in the basement and yard. It’s so convenient, there’s no need to go to a range. I have a .22 caliber Marauder, it’s accurate, quiet and smooth operating. I love it!

Hard Air Magazine: What are the main differences in Crosman between when you joined and today?

Bob Beckwith: Well, we’re much larger today. Becoming bigger means that you have to grow a company’s infrastructure and change the way the business is run. We’ve always had really good people throughout all areas of Crosman. But today we have much more strength in depth than when I started. We’ve also embraced a more cross-functional, teamwork-based approach. That’s most obvious in the LEAN principles we’ve applied to manufacturing. I like to get down onto the manufacturing floor as often as possible to see progress and how our teams are working. Customers don’t pay for waste! We aim to provide products the customer wants at prices that are attractive.

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM - Part One.

Hard Air Magazine: Bob, what do you see as Crosman’s core competencies?

Bob Beckwith: Service, retail, relationships and technical capabilities. We’ve always given outstanding support to Crosman customers at all levels. Knowing and understanding our distributors and dealers is key, too, because they are the people who keep buying from us. That keeps Crosman products on the shelves for your readers to buy. And we use a lot of management tools and technical capabilities that are not common in companies of a similar size.

Hard Air Magazine: How would you describe Crosman’s corporate culture today?

Bob Beckwith: Teamwork and winning. I like to win and it’s my job to listen then build consensus within the company that makes us succeed. Crosman is really pushing to win, we’re not interested in second place. We do that by working hard together and not just by hoping we’ll get lucky. I try to do the best I can for our customers and also our employees. More than 280 people work for Crosman – that makes it a serious responsibility!

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM - Part One.

Hard Air Magazine: Do you see Crosman bringing more manufacturing back to the USA in future?

Bob Beckwith: Steve, I’m proud that Crosman manufactures more than 60% of what we sell. That’s unusually high for companies in most any industry! Yes, of course, we would like to continue to bring more manufacturing back in-house. It gives us more flexibility and it makes us cost-competitive for our customers. We do whatever makes sense for the company and in-house manufacturing is a huge part of that. We also closely monitor US governmental policies, such as the falling exchange rate for the Dollar and new tariffs. There’s a lot happening there and will act accordingly…

Hard Air Magazine: Can you share some of the company’s strategic vision for the future?

Bob Beckwith: Crosman will service the outdoor enthusiast. We’re going to grow and win. Our expanding crossbow business is an example of this growth for the company.

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM - Part One.

Hard Air Magazine: Bob, what do you see as the biggest opportunity in the overall airgun market?

Bob Beckwith: Hunting with airguns is huge. It gives hunters different ways to hunt and different seasons for them to do so. And it must be ethical hunting! That’s why big bore airguns are important. We’re working with industry associations and individual states to increase and clarify the ways airguns can be used for ethical hunting. For example, what should be the minimum caliber and Muzzle Energy requirements for different types of game.

Hard Air Magazine: Customer service has always been a strength for Crosman. You have phone support, parts diagrams and supply, a repair center network and more. Do you see this as differentiator in future with so many customers buying from low support retail outlets like Walmart and Amazon?

Bob Beckwith: One thing that has not changed during my time with Crosman is our focus on customer service! Unlike many other companies, we’ve not forgotten the importance of this. At Crosman, we’ve retained our traditional core service values. For example, when a customer phones Crosman he/she talks to a real person who’s based in Bloomfield, New York. And our customer service folk are all long-service employees, many of them with experience in manufacturing. They really know what they’re talking about and they do their best to help Crosman customers.

Bob Beckwith, The CEO Of Crosman Corporation, Talks To HAM - Part One.

Due to the large amount of interesting material, we’ve divided this interview into two parts. The second part will appear on 3rd May.

Thanks to Atticus Kiser of Crosman for taking the interview photographs.

Here’s more details about Pyramyd Air’s Airgun Range and other attractions at the 2018 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits…

For the 8th consecutive year, the NRA and Pyramyd Air will team up to host the ever-popular airgun range during the 2018 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, May 3-6, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Pyramyd Air’s Airgun Range provides attendees of all ages with hands-on airgun shooting fun – for FREE. Plus, they’ll be great prize giveaways all weekend and a special appearance by Keith and Matti Warren, hosts of The High Road with Keith Warren on the Pursuit Channel.

“Pyramyd Air is thrilled to sponsor the airgun range again this year,” said Pyramyd Air Marketing Manager, Kristen Coss. “Everyone is welcome to visit our booth #8404 to look over the products, and then head to the range to shoot the newest and most exciting airguns available today. What could be better than actually getting some trigger time with your family while you visit the show?”

The airgun range, located in Ballroom C2 (right next to the NRA store), is open to all ages and is absolutely FREE to participate. The firing line is supervised by NRA Certified Instructors and competitive shooting coaches who also provide assistance and instruction.

“Pyramyd Air’s Airgun Range is stocked with airguns appropriate for all ages as well as ammo and interactive targets to test your marksmanship,” says Coss.

Air Arms, AirForce Airguns, Ataman, Air Venturi, Beeman, Crosman, Diana, Evanix, Hawke Optics, H&N, Kral Arms, Seneca, SIG Sauer and Umarex are among the many brands represented at Pyramyd Air’s Airgun Range.

Visitors to the booth will also have a chance to win the Hellraiser Hellboy, a tactical CO2-powered BB rifle based on the M4 carbine, and shoot the all-new Dust Devil BBs, the world’s first frangible BB ammo – both courtesy of Air Venturi.

Additional activities at the Pyramyd Air Airgun Range include a special appearance by hunting legends Keith Warren and Matti Warren, hosts of The High Road with Keith Warren on Saturday, May 5th from 1-2 p.m.

“I am excited to be representing Pyramyd Air and all the great products available to air gunners,” said Matti Warren. “Appearing at the NRA Convention is an amazing experience as we are surrounded by freedom loving Americans that share the passion for our shooting and hunting heritage and ultimately for our Second Amendment rights. I look forward to this Convention and shaking lots of peoples’ hands and telling them everything airguns have to offer.”
