Above, catching-up from yesterday, 14-year old Logan Jansen was the winner of the Youth class of the 25 Meter benchrest competition at EBR 2017. Logan achieved a score of 708 points using an original version FX Bobcat in .22 caliber. Well done, Logan!
With Day Three of EBR 2017, the main 75 Yard Extreme Benchrest competition itself has moved into full swing here in Arizona. And what a line-up there is of exotic air rifles, ready to shoot…
Below, we see Terence Logan, Daystate’s Sales Manager competing in the 75 Yard event with a high power .30 caliber Daystate Pulsar.
And the shooters fired-on, their concentration un-affected by Giles Barry filming the event for his Airgungear YouTube Channel.
At HAM, we are recognizing a selection of the people who make it all happen for EBR 2017. And here we have “Mr High Pressure Air”, Todd DeOrio. Todd is the mastermind behind the Omega compressor line of products. At EBR 2017, he’s working flat-out to keep all the competitors’ air tanks filled with precious HPA. But he managed to take time out for a smile. Thanks, Todd.
For those whose interest in airguns stretches back a few years, the name of Theoben will strike a cord for the range of outstanding products produced by that company. Well, Ben Taylor – the “ben” of Theoben is here at EBR 2017.
He’s flown “across the Pond” to compete in the Extreme Benchrest competition and get re-acquainted with the airgun world after something of a sabbatical in recent years.
With Ben, Giles, Andrew Huggett – he of silencer fame – Ross Marshall from Gilbert Distribution in the UK, Terence Logan from Daystate and myself as an expat Brit, there was lots of “funny accents” being spoken at EBR 2017!
Below, we see Giles interviewing Airgun Girl Dawn for a forthcoming video. At right, Andrew Huggett is keeping time. At left Katja Scialli – AEAC Steve Scialli’s wife offering moral support. What’s Giles up to? Only time will tell, but keep watching his YouTube channel!
Afternoon has seen the Speed Silhouette competition. Row after row of miniature steel animals are laboriously placed into position and then mown down at an incredible pace by the competitors.
This makes shooting a spectator sport and everyone gathers at EBR 2017 to see the fast and furious action.
And yes, EBR 2017 is the home of precision, long range airgun shooting. But no-one could help but be interested in the fully-automatic firepower of this Air Ordnance SMG 22. It’s been heavily customized – inside and out by Stephen Gibson of Custom Air Rifles and Designs of Hampton Virginia. Steve also converted the gun to work on High Pressure Air, instead of CO2.
This certainly brought a smile to the face of everyone who saw it. It’s the antithesis of ll the other airguns being shot at EBR 2017! Sadly, it’s not allowed by Speed Silhouette competition rules, so Steve was shooting it purely for fun.
