The New Air Venturi Power Booster Provides HPA From a Shop Compressor

The new Air Venturi Power Booster is just what many people have been asking for. It’s a simple, low-maintenance device that provides HPA from a shop compressor. And at a price considerably less than any current mechanically-powered HPA compressor.

The Air Venturi Power Booster can provide HPA at up to 4,500 PSI and – remarkably – it requires no electrical supply. It’s powered by the low pressure (60 – 90 PSI) air output from an oil less  shop compressor.

The shop compressor acts as the first stage, feeding up to 90 psi to the Booster.  It is recommended that a shop compressor capable of delivering 60-90 psi at 5 cubic feet per minute (CFM) is used.  A compressor producing less than 5 CFM can be used, but will result in slower fill times.

Air Venturi says that the Power Booster is light weight, compact and far less expensive than a more conventional, stand-alone high pressure compressor. It provides HPA from a shop compressor at up to 4,500 PSI and is fitted with an automatic shutoff that’s settable for the pressure required to fill your tank or airgun.

As delivered, the Air Venturi Power Booster is set to produce an output pressure of 3,000 PSI, plus or minus 10% (ie between 2,700 and 3,300 PSI). There’s an external adjustment screw that can be turned to set a precise output pressure between 2,000 and 4,500 PSI.

The company also says that the Air Venturi Power Booster features an onboard oil reservoir which automatically lubricates the mechanism, together with an onboard moisture filter.

In Hard Air Magazine’s opinion, the Air Venturi Power Booster could be a ground-breaking step forward for PCP airguns. We’ve seen remarkable progress in the development of low-cost PCP air rifles with high-end features – think Umarex Gauntlet, for example – but the cost of filling with HPA has remained stubbornly high until now.

At $700, the Air Venturi Power Booster is significantly cheaper than any HPA compressor currently on the market and – for the many people who already own a shop compressor – is the solution they have been looking for. A simple, (relatively) low cost method of producing HPA from a shop compressor.
