The Kral Mortal PCP air rifle is one of the company’s new models that were featured at the 2025 IWA OutdoorClassics show in Germany back in early March.

Kral always has an enormous range of products to show every year. For 2025, the company’s product catalogue – printed, thank goodness – is no less than 116 pages long. And there’s multiple products featured on most of those pages!!!

True, the company manufactures an extensive range of shotguns and some firearms. But a large proportion of their range is comprised of airguns: mainly PCPs. There’s so many that it’s tough to keep track of them all.

Actually, the full product name is the Kral Puncher Mortal. However as the company uses “Puncher” as a name on seemingly all of it’s PCPs, we’re omitting it here – as will probably most customers…

The first thing that strikes you about the Mortal is the huge number of M-LOK slots on the forend. That’s in addition to two short Picatinny rails on the underside. Kral is clearly targeting the accessory-minded shooter here.

Many Kral Mortal PCP air rifle features are those you would expect. For example, a shrouded barrel, sidelever action, rotary magazine and regulator. However there are some other features that make the Mortal unusual….

One is the low – 200 Bar, 2,900 PSI fill pressure. That’s about the lowest fill pressure I know of in a current PCP air rifle – outside of the Crosman 3622.

True, this is probably a contributory factor to the relatively low maximum Muzzle Energy. It’s 26 Ft/Lbs in .22 cal and 31.5 Ft/Lbs in .25 caliber.  However it does mean that the Mortal is one of the easiest PCPs around to fill with a hand pump.

As we can see below, the Mortal becomes very portable when the AR-style buttstock is folded.

Another unusual feature is the provision of spare magazine storage actually in the underside of the gun’s action. Again, this is not unprecedented, however it’s tough to think of this facility being implemented in exactly this manner.

Talking of magazines, the Mortal is supplied with two rotary magazines. Each holds 12 rounds in .22 caliber, or 10 in .25 cal.

But Kral also has high-capacity belt-fed magazines available. These hold 26 rounds in either .22 or .25 caliber. But it seems that the .25 cal mags are distinguished by the bright yellow components that we see in the photograph below.

The only other place HAM has seen such a use of bright colors in the magazine is in the case of the Reximex Throne Compact Gen 2. There the magazine rotor is in a similar bright yellow plastic.

I think that the use of such bright colors is an extremely useful feature. It definitely makes magazine loading MUCH easier in dull lighting conditions.

So not only does the Mortal have some unusual features, they are actually useful ones, too!

The Street Price of the Kral Mortal PCP air rifle is to be $799.99. Availability is scheduled for early August, 2025. Frighteningly, that’s not so long away now!
