The new Hard Air Magazine Community Airgun Classifieds are scheduled to launch on Monday 16 September 2024.
Everything is ready-to-go now. So we have a week for “final final” testing and tidying-up a few loose ends. The launch date is immediately after the 2024 Pyramyd Cup!
It’s going to look very much like this…
The display of ads is exactly the same as you’re used to when looking at HAM articles in the Community. First there’s an overview.
You just select an item that interests you, then click on it to see a comprehensive description.
First I would like to thank all those members of the HAM Airgun Community who took the time and effort to comment on this project. Be assured that we read and digested all your input. They were even entered into a spreadsheet for analysis…

Here’s How Hard Air Magazine Community Airgun Classifieds Will Work.
We will start with “Want To Sell” (WTS) ads only.
Classified ads can be placed by HAM Community members by redeeming 100 HAM Airgun Points. The intention of this is to prevent “hit and run” scammers who might otherwise just sign-up and place an ad. It’s also a “thank you” to our members for contributing to the HAM Community!
Each ad will run for 30 days. You will be able to renew it for another 30 days without the need to redeem more HAM Airgun Points.
There will also be a WTS Classifieds Archive. Ads that are sold or just not current will automatically be stored there for future reference. This archive will be visible to registered HAM Community members who are logged-in.

The issue of safe transactions was raised by many HAM Community members. So we have incorporated as many “safety first” measures as we can to defeat the scammers.
For example, all HAM Classified WTS ads must be accompanied by at least one photograph showing a sheet of paper including his/her HAM Community User Name, product name and the date the seller is placing the ad.

Obviously this cannot be a 100% GUARANTEE that the seller actually has the product. However it easy to do for a genuine seller and would require strong skills in photo editing software to fake convincingly.
If none of the photographs includes a clear, legible and large enough indication of ownership, or if there are any other concerns about the ad, it will be deleted by a HAM Community Moderator before it can be posted. Again, the aim of this is to target scammers.
Instructional guides for Hard Air Magazine Community Airgun Classifieds are already being posted in the Community FAQ And Guides area. So you can start to learn about the system there.
Also, we have pre-populated both the Classifieds and the Classifieds Archive with “dummy” ads (as you can see above). The intention of these is to make the functionality clear. They are clearly marked as “EXAMPLE ONLY” and will be removed as real ads flow into the system.

Next Steps
In fact, Version 1 of the Classifieds will be launched on 16 September. We hope to follow with “Want To Buy” (WTB) ads in future.
Many HAM Community members also requested that we implement a feedback system for buyers and sellers. We’re looking into it, and other things too.
