Hard Air Magazine readers first learned about the JTS Brawn air rifle in our report from the 2024 SHOT Show. Now it’s available from Pyramyd AIR in .22 caliber, .25 and .30 cal models.
There’s a .177 caliber version also, although Pyramyd tells us that this will likely be available in a month or so.
The JTS Brawn is an extension of the company’s Airacuda platform. Selling for $499.99 – or $529.99 for the .30 caliber version – it’s a competitively-priced addition to the burgeoning PCP air rifle market.
As with the Airacuda Max, the Brawn combines a familiar mix of features. There’s a sidelever action, magazine feed, regulated HPA supply and shrouded barrel.
The specification summary reads as follows:
Caliber | Max Shots/Fill | Max Velocity | Mag Capacity |
.177 | 35 | 980 FPS | 12 rds |
.22 | 35 | 900 FPS | 10 rds |
.25 | 35 | 860 FPS | 10 rds |
.30 | 15 | 830 FPS | 7 rds |
Although the overall length is just 33 Inches, the weight is relatively high at 9 Lbs 5 Oz. That’s an indication of the “all wood and metal” construction of the Brawn. You can see the wooden cheekpiece surrounding the magazine in the photograph below.
Also shown in this photograph is the regulated air pressure gauge on the side of the action. The tube (fill) pressure gauge is located at the front in a rearward-facing location. This gauge can be rotated to be visible from either side, depending if the shooter is right- or left-handed.
Barrel length is 17.2 Inches and there’s a 1/2 x 20 UNF adapter for installing an airgun-specific moderator where legal. Above the barrel is a Picatinny rail for scope mounting.
The manual safety is located inside the guard of the two-stage adjustable trigger, making for easy ambidextrous operation. Filling is achieved through a “standard Foster connector” and the maximum fill pressure is a handpump-friendly 3,190 PSI.
The Brawn is supplied with two metal rotary magazines. It carries a 3-year warranty from the manufacturer.
