Just when we thought we had seen all the new products at Extreme Benchrest, a new 30 caliber FX Wildcat breaks cover. And HAM is the first to bring you the news!
At first I thought that the main FX introduction was the Team FX RV. It’s a vehicle about the size of Sweden and is the headquarters for the FX team at Extreme Benchrest. It offers service support, air and even food for the team…
But boy, was I wrong!
For Card One of the 75 Extreme Benchrest competition, Jon from FX USA opened-up a brand new 30 caliber FX Wildcat.
Jon explained to me that this new model has a 700 mm barrel, combined with an externally-adjustable regulator. The regulator on this 30 caliber FX Wildcat is on the right side of the gun, just above the buttstock. It’s adjusted with an Allen wrench.
Not only that, but this new 30 caliber FX Wildcat will be available in the USA in November, Jon told me.
Above, here’s the prototype gun in action. The “white” magazines are just prototype parts. Final shipments will feature black anodized magazines, Jon said.
Of course, the new 30 caliber FX Widcat has the FX Smooth Twist X barrel. Jon was shooting 46.3 Grain FX BOSS pellets through the gun and was scoring well when I watched him!
But wait, there’s more…
Another “stealth” new air rifle appearance was this 25 caliber Diana Outlaw being shot on the 75 Yard Extreme Benchrest course by Diana’s International Sales Manager Tobias Schmidt.
This Outlaw combined a black-finished Minelli stock with Diana’s Outlaw Match Trigger and – unseen but important – a Lothar Walther barrel.
Of course, the Outlaw is regulated and had been built by Diana technicians in Germany. Is this a sneak peek at a forthcoming new product, or a sample to gauge customer reaction? I guess we’ll find out in future!
