It’s Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one!
This major event in the airgun shooting calendar started on a high note. There were many, many shooters, the chance to meet-up with lots of friends again and some seriously great shooting. Not only that, but the weather was just perfect, cool by Arizona standards, with temperatures in the 70s.
The main competition at Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one is the American Field Target shoot. As usual, this takes place between massive saguaro cacti, adding an exotic taste to those of us who traveled in from cooler climes.
The American Field Target rules used at Extreme Benchrest have many differences from more conventional Field Target competitions. Among other things, the range to the targets is displayed to the shooter at each firing point. Yes, those numbers are in Yards – some targets are more than 100 Yards from the shooter…
Below, Tom Adams was one of many shooters using a Daystate Red Wolf at the Field Target course on Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one.
While Ted Bier was competing with a dual tank FX Impact in .30 caliber.
Below, Sandy Corcorran was another Daystate shooter. Her husband Bobby was also competing in the American Field Target course.
Airgun Nation owner Michael Wendt was also enjoying the FT shoot at Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one…
While Mark Maher was having good success – again with a Daystate Red Wolf.
Another big focus on Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one was the sight-in range. Below, Matt Dubber looks pleased with the scope settings on his Brocock Bantam.
Also in view was the first major appearance of the “new Look” Airguns of Arizona logo and corporate colors, modeled here by joint owner Robert Buchanan.
There was plenty of serious practice taking place in advance of the main 75-Yard Extreme Benchrest event starting tomorrow!
In fact, there was also a lot of new product interest at Extreme Benchrest 2018 day one. So much so that we’ll cover that in a second report.
