Airgun hunting in New Hampshire is now legal for small game, thanks to efforts led by SIG SAUER.
Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of SIG AIR, the airgun division of SIG SAUER, Inc. explained…
“SIG AIR is dedicated to supporting the growth of the airgun sports and to working to enact new laws to allow hunting with airguns using appropriate calibers for various species of game,”
“So we worked with game officials and legislators in New Hampshire to amend a bill to allow hunting of small game with air rifles, such as the new SIG ASP20 break barrel air rifle. Governor Sununu just signed this bill into law. This is welcome news for current airgun enthusiasts and will help open the door to new hunters and shooters over time.”
The bill legalizes small game hunting with air rifles having a caliber of .22 or larger. The minimum Muzzle Energy required is 12 Ft/Lbs. You can read the full details here.
“Legalizing airgun hunting in New Hampshire is another sign that more states are beginning to recognize that today’s advanced airgun technology allows for ethical hunting with airguns, and laws are changing accordingly.” explained Joe. SIG AIR is supporting the newly created Airgun Sporting Association as a founding member. Joseph Huston is a member of the Airgun Sporting Association Board of Directors.
A primary focus of the Airgun Sporting Association is to strengthen relationships between state wildlife agencies and representatives of the airgun industry. It also works towards legalizing the use of airguns for hunting and recreational shooting throughout the United States.
