Hector continues his report from WFTC 2018. This was the registration and practice day!

After a good hearty breakfast (European Style), we all got together and went to register and get the equipment verified by the Marshals.

The WFTC 2018 registration process took over 1 1/2 hours!  The process was well organized, but it simply takes time. Perhaps having TWO equipment checking stations for the one registration section would be better.

Then we went to the Sight-In range, to see if the guns were shooting as they should and if they were still legal (sub-12 Ft/Lbs). There was Ray Apelles, and now, with the two Matt’s and myself, Piston Team USA for the WFTC 2018 was complete.

Our heading photograph, above, shows the Sight-In range. Here’s another couple of views. That’s Ray Apelles in front, of course in the first photo.

Once that was done, with Matt Brackett and Matt Sawyer, we made a little squad.

Below, Matt Brackett was in playful mood 🙂

John Eroh joined us after his dinner while we gave a good whirl to the Practice Course. That’s Matt and John talking together below.

There we found some our good Canadian friend, Jeff Hemming, with whom we shared the lanes in New Zealand. He was having a great time, too!

Learned a thing or two about how they setup a course and how they make it difficult.

Went through the positional targets and in general had fun in the sun. But it does carry some stress, and we ended the day with a splash in the pool.

After that, dinner and a beer to simply talk, and laugh at each other’s jokes.

FT is a tough sport, but the people you share the sport with is what makes so agreeable!

Below, here’s Team USA member Ray Apelles at the Sight-In range.
