Snowpeak Airguns is almost certainly the biggest airgun manufacturer you’ve never heard of. This long-established Chinese airgun manufacturer has been in business since 1976 and claims to manufacture more than ONE MILLION airguns a year!
Without a doubt this makes Snowpeak Airguns one of the world’s largest airgun manufacturers – maybe it is actually the largest of them all!
So why have you never heard of Snowpeak Airguns? Well, that’s because they’re an “OEM manufacturer”. That means that their business model is to be the manufacturing engine for other companies. They exhibit at the IWA OutdoorClassics show every year.
Snowpeak Airguns don’t try to sell directly to customers – like you and I – under their own name. They manufacture airguns that other companies sell.
This type of OEM manufacturing business is capable of producing very high quality products. The most famous example of this OEM business model is the Taiwanese/Chinese company Foxconn. This is the assembly facility for iPads, iPhones etc that are designed and marketed by Apple.
Snowpeak Airguns originally manufactured classic Chinese B3 types underlever air rifles, and similar models. But in more recent times, they have manufactured airguns of other airgun companies own designs. And, in the past few years, they have burst out with a large number of original new designs which they market as “Artemis” products to other airgun companies.
(Artemis was the goddess of hunting in ancient Greek mythology, just in case – like me – you didn’t know).
Artemis products are mainly PCP and CO2-powered. They really are very good! Snowpeak works with their customers to produce custom versions with specific features, as required, giving customized manufacturing capability and quality levels.
So let’s take a look at a few of the large range of Snowpeak Airguns products. Some you’ll recognize, some not…

There’s also some innovative air pistols, too, including this folding stock model.
This OEM model allows Snowpeak Airguns to concentrate on manufacturing only. Their customers can then focus on marketing, distributing, selling, servicing – and sometimes design – of the products which we buy.
Snowpeak Airguns is also moving aggressively into the High Pressure Air compressor market. They have a growing range of electrically-powered HPA compressors like those seen below. Also HPA tanks, etc…
One thing is for sure, Snowpeak Airguns is an integral part of the international airgun world and has been for many years.
It’s very likely that many of us have owned a Snowpeak-manufactured product, even if we didn’t know it. And that’s not going to change any time soon!
