As you arrive at the 2018 IWA OutdoorClassics Show in the drizzle, there’s at least no doubt from the signage that you’ve come to the right place! There’s so many new airguns to see that it’s tough to know where to start. But the new FX Dreamline is certainly one that will take many people’s fancy…
Even before the show opens, there’s a “new products” display that makes it clear things are changing fast in the airgun world. As part of this, Turkish manufacturer Kral Arms was showing the new Kral Re-Volt. Here we have an electrically-powered semi-auto air rifle available in .177, .22 cal and .25 caliber. Interesting!
More to come on Kral in the next few days…
Yesterday, HAM announced the new Brocock Commander HR, the newest model in the British company’s growing range of PCP air rifles. Today we saw it for the first time. Shane Kellar of Airguns of Arizona was really excited about this new gun and can’t wait to buy one himself!
The gun Shane’s holding has a practical Cerakote finish and carbon fiber tank. There’s a built-in Huma regulator and – for the US market, at least, a practical folding stock, as Shane demonstrates below.
While at the Daystate booth, Robert Buchanan from Airguns of Arizona showed us the new walnut-stocked Daystate Red Wolf (below). We first saw this with the stunning red and black laminate stock at the SHOT Show. But the walnut version gives a completely different appearance and personality to the new design.
Over at SIG SAUER, the new ASP20 is coming closer to availability every day. This air rifle is completely designed and manufactured in the USA and is gaining new fans every time its shown.
We caught-up with Joe Brancato of AirTanks For Sale and he was certainly impressed, too.
Meanwhile, company owner Fredrik Axelsson showed us the new FX Dreamline PCP air rifle.
Or rather, it would be better to describe the FX Dreamline as a rifle system, father than just an air rifle. It’s a new modular airgun concept which is based on a receiver looking similar to that of the FX Impact. The big difference with the FX Dreamline in that the gun can be configured in a huge number of different ways…
There’s interchangeable calibers, stocks, SmoothTwist X barrels and even a bullpup configuration, all of which can be chosen by the customer. Fredrik told me that the FX Dreamline is designed for it to be easy for the owner to change the gun from one configuration to another.
The FX Dreamline can look the gun Fredrik’s holding above. Or it can look like this…
Or this…
Or this (no, it’s not a Wildcat, this is also a FX Dreamline)…
And there’s more choices for you, but the receiver stays the same, complete with the power adjustment features that you find on the Crown and Impact.
There’s obviously going to be a lot to discover about the FX Dreamline concept. Keep watching HAM as we bring you updates in the nest few months!
And, talking of new models, the Nova Vista Freedom was an interesting concept gun at the 2017 IWA Show when we brought you the full details. This year it’s in production and Nova Vista General Manager Kee Kat Tam shows us the final version.
Hard Air Magazine will be bringing you more details on this interesting multi-pump PCP air rifle very soon – there’s one on its way to the HAM offices as you read this.
There’s lots more airgun news to come from the 2018 IWA OutdoorClassics show. There will be more tomorrow…
