The new Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle was first shown publicly at the 2018 SHOT Show. It is a very interesting-looking new regulated PCP from Diana’s rapidly-expanding “Action Line”, as we first revealed in this pre-show post.
Now the first Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle has arrived at the HAM offices and we’re taking this opportunity to share a first look…
The Outlaw is shipped in a large, colorful card carton. This offers good protection for the gun, as was proved by UPS’s efforts to wreck the box during shipment. (What else is new?). Fortunately, Airguns of Arizons’s excellent packaging and the Outlaw’s first class carton with foam insert kept the gun itself in first class condition.
The Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle has a side lever action, combined with a multi-shot magazine. This gun is in .22 caliber and the mag holds 11 pellets. There’s 13 shots in the .177 caliber magazine and 9 shots in the .25 cal version.
Overall, the Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle is an elegant-looking airgun. As with most magazine-fed PCP air rifles, the magazine itself stands proud of the top of the breech. To check for clearances, we mounted a Leapers UTG Bugbuster onto the Outlaw using Medium rings. The Bugbuster has a 1-inch tube and – as you can see – the magazine fitted snugly under the scope’s turret section with no problems.
The magazine itself looks to be robust and of quite a sophisticated design. That’s it in the photograph below on the left. One is supplied with the Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle and more are available if you feel the need for more. And who doesn’t?
Also included is a brass fill probe. This is of the very sensible design that incorporates a 1/8-inch NPT quick disconnect at the other end. It’s so convenient to use with the female Q/Ds fitted to air tanks and hand pumps and requires the use of no additional adapters.
The owner’s manual looks good too. It’s printed in color with good, clear, illustrations, as you can see below.
But that’s not all you’ll find in the Diana Outlaw PCP air rifle’s box. There’s a set of O rings, Allen (hex) wrenches and a couple of other steel parts that we haven’t yet figured-out. Watch out for more details in a future HAM story!
