Here’s yet more airgun news and photographs from the 2018 SHOT Show…
A major airgun news announcement at the SHOT show was the appearance of Rapid Air Weapons under the Air Force banner. In future, RAW air rifles will be built by Air Force, bringing a new product line to the Texas airgun company. Clearly, this brings a whole new line of multi-shot PCP air rifles to Air Force.
Air Force also plan to bring back the iconic Theoben name. There was a Theoben-branded air rifle at the booth, as we can see above thanks to Petra Darvill’s help. Below is a close-up of the Theoben Rapid breech.
And we also see a new Air Force Texan carbine, too, below. This is a shorter and lighter version of the Texan rifle, yet providing a similar power output, says the company.
More airgun news was to be found at KaliberGun. The Czech manufacturer of the Cricket air rifle has announced a new semi-automatic PCP air rifle, the Caypybara. This bullpup model features an 18-shot magazine and is currently announced in .22 caliber only. Adela Kacerova kindly showed us the Capybara…
Below, we see a lose-up of the Capybara’s breech. As you can see from the “0001” serial number, this is a prototype/pre-production model. Production guns will probably not have the elaborate camo-dipped stock finish. Black stocks are shown in Kaliber’s latest catalog.
Of course, there’s always airgun news – at least airgun scope news – at Leapers! This year, the company was showing the new side focus UTG Bugbuster models, including this 3-12×30 model. There’s also a side focusing 3-9×32 version of this new scope.
Leapers was also showing a new “core design” for future scope introductions. The UTG 3-12×56 scope is the first model to feature a completely new turret design and lockable eyepiece diopter. Leapers tells us that these new features will appear on many new UTG scopes in future.
There will be a final airgun news report from the 2018 SHOT Show tomorrow. And maybe more after that! Stay tuned and check back with HAM for all the latest airgun news…
