IWA Outdoor Classics – better-known as the IWA Show – is without doubt, the most significant trade show for the airgun industry, worldwide. It really is “airgun industry central”!
Yes, it’s true that many airgun companies are represented at the SHOT Show. And, of course, the SHOT Show is the premier industry trade event for the US domestic market.
But IWA Outdoor Classics is on a completely different level when it comes to international significance for the airgun business community. Many European, Turkish, Chinese and Taiwanese companies are exhibitors at the IWA show, yet are almost completely unknown in the USA as they do not attend the SHOT Show.
As you can read from previous Hard Air Magazine reports, there’s an amazing variety of new airgun products that first surface at IWA .
And the proportion of airgun-related booths at IWA Outdoor Classics is very high. You find airguns almost everywhere you turn! Again this is unlike the SHOT Show, where airguns can be difficult to find amid the vast number of firearms-related booths.
This makes IWA a “must visit” for key decision-makers in the airgun industry.
If you’re thinking of visiting IWA Outdoor Classics for 2018, now is the time to book hotel accommodation in Nuremberg and flights to Germany.
Again unlike the SHOT Show, IWA Outdoor Classics is able to accommodate new companies as exhibitors without a waiting list of several years. So it’s not too late for American companies to be exhibitors at IWA Outdoor Classics 2018, even now!
The IWA Outdoor Classics show is operated by “Nürnberg Messe”. Here’s a sample report from IWA Outdoor Classics 2017.
Nürnberg is how Germans spell the city of Nuremberg’s name, it’s home to the show. As the “ü” character in the name is not familiar to most non-German speakers, it’s often written as “ue” – Nuernberg. It’s simple really, when you know! Messe is the German word for show.
For US-based companies, Nürnberg Messe has a fully-equipped US office, NürnbergMesse North America. It’s based in Atlanta, Georgia. (link)
If you’re considering whether to be an exhibitor at IWA Outdoor Classics 2018 – and several US-based airgun companies do – or attending as a visitor, NürnbergMesse North America can help. Chela Nicholson and Gissella Palma are the contacts to ask for by phone at (770) 618-5836 and (770) 618-5830.
The photographs here are from the IWA show in 2017. They give a flavor of what we can expect to see again in 2018…
