Today saw the second day of the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup. This, the fourth annual competition, has attracted over 100 registered competitors. That makes it the most-attended event in the 2017 Field Target season – as you can see from the photographs in this post.
There’s competitors from California, Canada, Puerto Rico and just about everywhere in between. And many manufacturers are represented, including Air Force, Diana, H&N, JSB, Leapers and Hawke Optics.
The Tusco Rifle Club plays host to the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup as in previous years. This is a beautiful range that makes a valuable resource from an old, disused strip coal mine, which it was once in the past!
Prizes at the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup are very generous! There’s no less than $15,000 to be awarded in cash, winner’s prizes and raffles. And then there’s a load of sliverware to be collected by the winners, as we can see below.
Pyramyd Air also had a special “20% off “sale for attendees at the shoot. Many people found – not surprisingly – that they just had to make one airgun more purchase with an offer like that…
Although most competitors arrived yesterday (Friday), the main Field Target competition started today. In the afternoon, the first round of the Pyramyd Gunslynger speed silhouette gave a lot of fun to both shooters and spectators!
Although PCPs dominate at the Field Target competition, the Gunslynger event levels the tables, with many shooters choosing to shoot break barrel springers because of their speed of loading.
Among the exhibitors at the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup, Tobias Schmidt, the International Sales manager for Diana, competed in as many events as possible. Here he has fun shooting a Diana P100 PCP air rifle.
There’s an excellent choice of sighting-in ranges at the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup, with masses of targets for last-minute adjustments…
Short of air for your PCP? No problem! There’s plenty of HPA tanks available and a compressor to keep them filled.
And Pyramyd is encouraging youth shooters with a special competition for very young competitors. These determined youngsters handled their Air Venturi Lil’ Duke air rifles safely and shot accurately, too. This is where the FT stars of the future make their start!
Stay tuned for more tomorrow from the 2017 Pyramyd Air Cup…
