Back at the Crosman All American Field Target shoot in July, Crosman Product Manager Phillip Guadalupe showed me an early sample of the new Remington 1875 dual ammo replica revolver. That’s it in the photograph above. It was a fine-looking piece and Phillip told me it would be shipping from the Crosman factory in late August.
Latest news from Crosman is that this new CO2-powered Remington 1875 dual ammo replica revolver has, indeed, started shipping to Crosman dealers. You should be able to buy it in the next couple of weeks…
The Remington 1875 dual ammo replica revolver is claimed to be an accurate replica of the famous nineteenth century single action firearm.
It has a functional hammer, load gate and extractor, says Crosman, together with a 6-round cylinder. The cylinder accepts individual “cartridges” that are pre-loaded with .177 caliber pellets or BBs.
As with the original 1875 firearm, loading is one at a time through the side gate. The complete cylinder can be removed, if desired.
There’s actually separate cartridges for BBs and pellets, so a total of 12 cartridges – six for each type of ammo – are included with the Remington 1875 dual ammo replica revolver.
The gun itself has faux ivory grips and a bright nickel finish. There’s also a single-action trigger and a smoothbore barrel that’s 6.5-inches long. However, that real barrel sits inside a “faux” barrel.
That “faux” barrel is 7.25-inches long and makes the appearance match that of the firearm original. Of course, such “barrel within a barrel” construction is common among many CO2-powered BB- and pellet-firing replica air pistols.
The manufacturer claims Muzzle Velocities of up to 410 FPS for the Remington 1875 dual ammo replica revolver. As is always the case with CO2-powered airguns, HAM would expect the actual FPS to vary based on pellet/BB weight and ambient temperature.
The List Price is $139.99.
