Crosman has introduced a new NP2, gas ram-powered model – the Benjamin Rogue NP2 SBD air rifle.

But wait! Haven’t we heard that name before?

Well, yes, we have. The first Benjamin Rogue was a big bore .357 caliber PCP air rifle. It was introduced in Summer 2011 and withdrawn from sale in November 2013. That tells us that it probably wasn’t a great seller.

That Benjamin Rogue was a whopper in size and hugely powerful with programmable electronic control of power and shot count. It sold for around $1,300. This is what it looked like…

But now we have a new Benjamin Rogue. This time it’s single-shot, break barrel action and available in .177 and .22 calibers. As its name implies, the new Benjamin Rogue NP2 SBD air rifle is powered by an NP2 gas ram. It also features two of the company’s latest technological improvements, SBD and CBT. It’s already available online priced at around $255.00.

Things couldn’t be more different!

Available in both .177 and .22 caliber, the Benjamin Rogue NP2 air rifle features a similar action and performance to the recently-announced Benjamin Mayhem SBD air rifle. However, it’s a lower priced model with a simpler stock design and lower-spec bundled scope.

The Benjamin Rogue NP2 SBD is shipped with a 3-9×32 scope and rings to fit the Picatinny mounting rail on top of the gun. There’s no AO on this scope, unlike the one included with the Benjamin Mayhem.

There’s also fixed front and adjustable rear open sights included. The rear sights include both windage and elevation adjustment, as expected.

In .177 caliber, the Benjamin Rogue NP2 SBD air rifle is claimed to deliver a maximum Muzzle velocity of up to 1,400 FPS, combined with 23 Ft/Lbs of Muzzle Energy. The .22 cal version has specifications calling for a maximum of 1,100 FPS and 26 Ft/Lbs, respectively. These are the maximum muzzle velocities achieved with ally pellets.

With lead pellets, Crosman claims up to 1,150 FPS in .177 caliber and 950 FPS for the .22 caliber Benjamin Rogue NP2 SBD air rifle.

Like the Mayhem, the new Rogue has sling mounts are fitted to this new model, making carrying in the field much easier. These sling mounts have a stud fitting at the rear and a loop fitting at the front.
