The SIG SAUER 1911 Spartan CO2 BB Pistol is another new airgun from the company. It will be available from dealers very shortly.
This is a very solid-feeling 1911 replica that’s in most internal respects identical to the SIG SAUER 1911 Max Michel BB Pistol that gained a HAM Gold Award last year. That’s a good thing!
Here’s the two pistols together, below.
As you can see, the SIG SAUER 1911 Spartan CO2 BB Pistol differs from the Max Michel version in having a skeleton trigger, different grips, color scheme and markings.
There’s a Spartan helmet design on the grips. The Greek characters on the grips and slide are usually translated to mean “come and take them”. This is the reply given by the Spartan king on being offered surrender terms by the Persians (who had an overwhelmingly-huge army) in 480 BC.
Given the circumstances, my guess is that the actual meaning of those words 2,500 years ago was rather less politically correct, however! A modern parallel would be the “Nuts” reply from General Anthony McAuliffe at Bastogne in 1944…
The SIG SAUER 1911 Spartan CO2 BB Pistol has a 16-round BB capacity magazine and a claimed muzzle velocity of up to 410 FPS.
