Paul Cray won 2024 FLFT Grand Prix against Lauren Parsons by a shoot off. That’s Paul in there somewhere in traditional pose behind his Thomas air rifle in our heading photograph above.
Both WFTF PCP category shooters attained high scores of 113 from the combined woods and open field courses. Paul won – just – by a standing shoot-off!
For a guy who is always smiling, Paul looked distinctly serious receiving his prize from Match Director Eric Brewer (left).
Below, Lauren Parsons was also shooting extremely well with her regular FT combination of Daystate Red Wolf LPR and Kahles scope.
Greg Vaughan headed-up the Hunter PCP group with a score of 105. We see him below, shooting his RAW TM-1000.
While Greg Shirhall took top place in Hunter Piston with a score of 84. For many years a PCP shooter, Greg has been successful in Hunter Piston in recent years with his Walther LGU (below).
As always, there’s great shooting down the line in the windy open field course. The woods course offers different challenges with no wind but deep shade and tough ranging.
In fact, the whole course was very tough this year. The Field course had a high Troyer Factor of 34.14, with the Woods even more severe at 34.84.
Below, the Benjamin Shooting Team participated, as always. Again as always, Chief Designer John Solpietro was having a great time!
Eric had made a series of beautiful plaques for the winners. They were solid hardwood, carefully engraved. This is yet another example of the effort Eric always puts-in to his matches…
The match was well-supported by commercial sponsors. Airguns of Arizona sponsored the T-shirts, while raffle prizes were donated by Hard Air Magazine, Crosman/Benjamin, Pyramyd, Athlon Optics and Paul’s Custom Targets.
Finally we see the scoreboard. Yes Paul Cray won 2024 FLFT Grand Prix, but there were many other very strong performances on this tough course.
