Hard Air Magazine specialist springer test reviewer Eric Brewer competed in the 2016 AAFTA Nationals. This competition was hosted by the South Michigan Gun Club Pneumatics in Mattawan, MI, over the weekend of 8 – 9 October.

Eric shot well, coming Third in the Hunter Piston class. He also nearly won the Hunter Pistol competition, being placed Second after a shootout. Great shooting, Eric!

In addition to competing, Eric also took a ton of outstanding photographs that are being published here. I know just how difficult it is to photograph a shoot and also compete, so take a look through Eric’s photographs and enjoy a “feel” for the 2016 AAFTA Nationals…

The South Michigan club is relatively young, so it was a big thing for them to take on such a big competition as the 2016 AAFTA Nationals, with more than 100 competitors. But Chris Martin and the team did well and the match was enjoyed by all.

The Nationals featured many classes. The Pistol competition included Open Pistol and Hunter Pistol classes. No less than 36 competitors took part in the pistol competitions. It’s great to see such a large number of participants in these disciplines!

In Open Pistol, Riz Marquez placed first after a shoot out with Tyler Patner, who won Second place. Ryan Parts was third.

Hunter Pistol saw Charles Garvey win, with Eric Brewer placing Second from a shootoff and Bob Dye, third.

The air rifle classes of the 2016 AAFTA Nationals included WFTF PCP, WFTF Piston, Open PCP, Hunter PCP and Hunter Piston. Here’s some of the action…
