Pyramyd Air has announced its list of the 2021 best selling air rifles. There’s some newcomers, some old favorites and some really, really old favorites included…
Perhaps surprisingly, no less than half – five out of ten – are CO2 powered. Three are spring/piston guns. The remaining two are PCPs.
So here they are, in order…

Velocity Outdoor is clearly the top manufacturer in this list of 2021 best selling air rifles. Through its different brands, the company has four “top ten” placements. These are the Marauder, DPMS, 1077 and AK1. Congratulations to the company from Bloomfield, New York!
Although Pyramyd Air’s definition of air rifles does not match that used by HAM – it also includes guns listed by HAM as replicas – there’s some clear overlap. The Marauder, Avenger and 1077 all scored well in HAM’s most popular air rifle reviews of 2021 listing.
Another interesting comparison is that the Avenger and Marauder place first and second. Of course the Air Venturi model represents the latest and greatest, regulated “value priced” PCP.
The Marauder (above) is a long-standing favorite and – unusually for 2021 – still unregulated in its most popular model. However Pyramyd’s link suggests that they are also including the regulated and semi-auto versions of this platform.
Both the Avenger and Marauder are HAM Gold Award winners! Both have considerable potential for adjustment and tuning, too.
It’s not so long ago that this list would have been dominated by single shot, break barrel spring/piston airguns. Now there’s only one in Pyramyd Air’s 2021 best selling air rifles. It’s the Hatsan 95. In fact, the 95 is the only “traditional” single-shot model in the list, proving how US airgun shooters have moved decisively to multi-shot guns.
We also see that four out of the ten are BB guns. Again, this is a significant change over recent years.
Congratulations, too, to Air Venturi for taking top place with the Avenger. There’s no doubt that this gun has created a step-change in the value-priced PCP airgun market. With the latest introduction of the bullpup model to the Avenger range, this has to be a top bet for Pyramyd Air’s best-selling air rifle of 2022 also!
