Not content with launching the Baracuda 18 pellet recently, German pellet manufacturer H&N Sport is now introducing another new pellet. It’s the Baracuda 15.
The H&N Baracuda 15 has a weight of 15.89 Grains. Like the “Eighteen”, it’s available in .22 caliber only.
In HAM’s opinion, this weight puts it right at the upper end of mid-weight pellets for .22 caliber, without it being a true heavy weight pellet. It’s clearly a match for small game and bird hunting, together with target practice.
By comparison, the well-known and long-running, mid-weight H&N Field Target Trophy pellets weigh 14.66 Grains in .22 caliber. The Baracuda Match – definitely a heavy pellet – weighs 21.14 Grains in .22 cal.
The manufacturer’s specs rate the Baracuda 15 as being suitable for air rifles producing a Muzzle Energy of greater than 12 Ft/Lbs. Of course, that’s the vast majority of airguns in the US. The head size is 5.52 mm.
H&N also recommends these domed pellets for ranges out to about 50 Yards. The Ballistic Coefficient is specified as being 0.029.
Again this fits between the BCs for the Field Target Trophy and Baracuda Match pellets. HAM measured the BC for the FTTs at 0.019 and the Baracuda Match at 0.033. So that spec from H&N sounds to be pretty-well “on the money”.
As you would expect, these new H&N Baracuda 15 pellets are packed in tins of 250. What’s more, they’re in stock at Pyramyd Air and available now!
