There’s another casualty of the Coronavirus Pandemic. The CAAFTC 2020 has been canceled.
The CAAFTC – Crosman All American Field Target Competition – has been a staple of the annual Field Target circuit for some years.
Held in upstate New York – near the Crosman facility – the event has drawn competitors from around the USA. Shooters regularly travel from as far away as California and Puerto Rico to take part.
However, this announcement has just appeared on the Crosman Facebook page.
“Event update: given the unprecedented events the past couple of months and concern for the safety and well-being of our community and all involved with the event the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Crosman All American Field Target Event.
We will be back bigger and better than ever in 2021! Thank you all for your support and we cannot wait to see you all next year!”
This not-unexpected announcement follows the cancellation of the 2020 Pyramyd Air Cup. The 2020 Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge has also been cancelled.
Given the still-increasing number of infections and deaths around the country from COVID-19, it’s hard to disagree with event organizers missing this year. This in spite of the huge amount of planning and work that is required to stage any of these events.
It’s obviously a tough decision to make, but it’s one that’s steadily being made by the organizers of many events, not only for airgun competitions, of course.
The CAAFTC 2020 has been canceled – let’s look forward to the CAAFTC 2021!
