IWA OutdoorClassics 2020 cancelled. That’s the final news for the airgun world’s most important trade show.

The 2020 show was originally scheduled for March – as usual. However, the organizers decided to cancel the show due to the developing Coronavirus situation. At that time, it looked safe to re-schedule for September 2020.

Unfortunately the virus has had other ideas…

So finally the decision has been taken to move the next show to September 2021. Originally, some 1,550 exhibitors from 60 countries were expected to attend the IWA OutdoorClassics 2020; in 2019, the event welcomed more than 45,500 trade visitors from 120 countries.

Here’s the official news from the organizers, NuernbergMesse:

“Due to the impact of the ongoing coronavirue pandemic and its effects on the global economy, NuernbergMesse has decided not to hold the IWA OutdoorClassics in September 2020.

The uncertain situation is imposing as yet unknown challenges on the industry and is causing a reduced willingness to invest, which in turn is associated with declining sales and product stoppages.

At the same time, trade fair participants in many places are finding it difficult to plan and prepare their trade fair appearances due to business activity being limited by official government order as well as international trade restrictions.

For this reason, our goal of creating a special experience for exhibitors and visitors with IWA OutdoorClassics and enabling the diverse development and expansion of international business relationships cannot be realised under the influence of the Corona crisis.

The decision was extremely difficult for us, but now we need to look to the future together. This means that all exhibitors will be reunited in Nuremberg from 12 – 15 March 2021, as the event reverts to its usual spring schedule.

“After this crisis the need for information and knowledge-sharing will be greater than ever. This is why we are now looking forward and setting the course for next year,” says Rebecca Schönfelder, Exhibition Director IWA OutdoorClassics.”

With IWA OutdoorClassics 2020 cancelled there’s more information and a FAQ for both exhibitors and visitors on the IWA OutdoorClassics website.
