QYS airgun pellets are not new to the USA, however they are becoming better-known to shooters here. At the 2020 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, QYS – or Zhuhai Qiang Yuan Sports Goods Co. Ltd., to use the full company name – was exhibiting for the first time.
The company is based in the south of China, right next to Macau and a short boat ride from Hong Kong. They have been manufacturing pellets since 1994 and have wins to their credit in Olympic and other international airgun competitions.
QYS airgun pellets are distributed in the USA by Predator International Inc. – the US importers of JSB pellets and people who definitely know quality pellets. That in itself is an excellent recommendation for the brand!

HAM has tested QYS Olympic wadcutter pellets in the past with very good results. These pellets also were the most accurate in our recent test review of the SIG SuperTarget air pistol.
QYS airgun pellets are available for .177 caliber in 4.49 mm and 4.50 mm head diameters. This diameter is printed on the base of the tin or box for easy identification.
The most familiar QYS airgun pellets are wadcutters. The company manufactures these in multiple grades – Olympic, Match and Training. All weigh 8.18 Grains.
The Olympic Grade pellets are individually presented in a 200-count, red plastic box. Match pellets are in a green box, while the Training grade are packed in tins of 500 pieces.
All the QYS pellets inspected by HAM have been very clean and well manufactured. This applies not only to the wadcutters, but also the newer Domed, Streamlined and Pointed pellets produced by the company.
HAM hopes that QYS pellets in larger calibers will become available in the market soon. The full current range is as follows…
