Compared to the air rifles we looked at yesterday, Pyramyd Air’s top selling air pistols 2019 show less changes over the years. CO2-powered pistols predominate. Most of these are firearms replicas. There’s been no “tectonic shift” changes in propulsion or ammo.
Of course there are new models. It’s no surprise that Glock and SIG SAUER are the brands that people want. Although there are some old faithfuls that have a seemingly timeless appeal – like the Beeman P17 and Crosman 2240, for example.
1. Glock 19 Gen. 3
It’s a compact version of the Glock 17, with pretty-well the same benefits. These two Glocks show that it’s not necessary for a replica air pistol to have blowback to be a sales success.
2. Glock 17 Gen. 3
This HAM Gold Award winner places second among Pyramyd Air’s top selling air pistols 2019. It’s powerful, has a great shot count, is extremely realistic and sells for a great price. Oh, it’s a Glock: that helps a lot, too!
3. SIG SAUER M17 P320
This HAM Silver Award winner is a very popular blowback replica. It’s relatively unusual in that it’s a pellet-firing pistol – most replica air pistols fire BBs. We loved the ultra-realistic appearance, easy CO2 loading and field stripability – if that’s a real word, that is!
4. Beeman P17
This veteran pneumatic air pistol is unusual in this company. It’s a single shot, over-cocking pellet pistol that’s not specifically a firearms replica.
5. Beretta 92A1
This is another long-running favorite. It’s been in the Pyramyd Air top ten list since 2016. It’s the highest-placed full-auto pistol in these rankings.
Manufacturer’s Rankings
As with the rifles, Umarex USA leads the manufacturer’s table. It’s the distributor of four products in the top ten: three Glocks and a Beretta. SIG SAUER and Crosman tie in second place with two guns each. Beeman and ASG (the Dan Wesson) have one each.
