A new product from Leapers is the UTG PRO TBNR Bipod. Bipods are an increasingly popular addition for many high performance PCP air rifles. So we mounted one to an FX Impact to test it out.

Leapers has a range of bipods available. The TBNR bipod is at the top of their range, with a Street Price of around $160.

Why “TBNR?”. It’s an abbreviation of the company’s slogan “The Best Never Rest”. The UTG PRO description means that this bipod is designed and manufactured in Leaper’s Michigan headquarters. It’s a product of Leapers’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and has to be a serious contender if you’re looking for a quality bipod.

The TBNR Bipod is available in two versions. One has a 9.6 Inch to 14.5 Inch center height. We’re looking at the shorter model with a center height of 7 to 9 Inches. It’s Leapers product code TLUBP02.

Leapers explains that this bipod is CNC-manufactured from 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 Aluminum with reinforced steel components. Aluminum surfaces are Type III Class 2 matt black hard coat anodize-finished. The steel parts are manganese phosphate treated.

As we can see above, there’s a Picatinny mounting deck with square-section steel crossbolt. This enables the bipod to be mounted directly onto the mounting rails fitted under the forend of many “tactical” PCP air rifles like the Impact. Alternatively, swivel stud mounts are available separately for use on wood stocks.

A variety of possible adjustments allows this UTG bipod to be used on challenging, irregular ground when hunting.

Tension-adjustable panning is provided for a complete 360 degrees. There’s a 50 degree open angle. In addition, a maximum of 19 degrees tilt is available forwards, rear, left and right. Combined with five lockable leg positions and adjustable length legs, the TBNR bipod is extremely versatily.

The legs can be folded forward or rearward as required when not deployed for use. The leg extensions feature steel ball bearing-controlled lock rings for rigidity. They also provide spring-loaded retraction when required.

Pointed metal feet are provided, however these can be replaced if required by foot pads that are compatible with the Atlas Feet Interface.

As with all Leapers products, this bipod is supplied with an excellent, illustrated instruction manual. Being an UTG PRO product, there’s a limited lifetime warranty, too.

All-in-all, this is a capable, high-end bipod with the features, looks and strength required for use with your PCP air rifle.
