Air Venturi has announced the availability of a new CO2-powered replica BB gun. It’s the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 pistol.

The manufacturer says that the realistic heft, authentic controls and blowback action of this 18-shot, magazine-fed BB repeater make it practically indiscernible from the real-steel .45-caliber pistol.

The Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 pistol has a deep grey, parkerized finish. There are mil-spec fixed sights and an 18-round drop-free magazine with built-in compartment for a 12 Gram CO2 cartridge.

Air Venturi describes this new BB gun is the perfect tool for training at home. It’s also a fun gun for plinking or target practice – they say – without having to pay for range time and .45 ACP ammunition.

In addition to the blowback action, Springfield Armory’s Mil-Spec 1911 pistol has an authentic, functioning grip safety. There’s also faux-wood grips, embossed with the Springfield Armory logo.

Air Venturi lists the maximum Muzzle Velocity as 320 FPS with steel BBs. Dust Devils shoot faster at up to 350 FPS, they say.

This CO2-powered 1911 would be an ideal companion to the Springfield Armory M1 carbine which was also launched at the 2019 SHOT Show. It joins the BB-firing XDM pistols as the range of Springfield Armory replica airguns expands.

Look for this new 1911 to be available at Air Venturi dealers such as Pyranyd Air and Airgun Depot in the near future…
