Leapers has announced two new compact UTG OP3 scopes. There’s a 3-12 x 44 model and a 4-16 x 44 companion version. We saw prototypes of these scopes at the 2019 IWA OutdoorClassics show in Germany, back in March.
Both these new compact UTG scopes combine a 30 mm diameter tube with etched glass Mil Dot reticles. The dot at the center of the reticle can be illuminated for easy sighting in challenging light conditions.
Parallax correction is via sidewheel adjustment down to 10 Yards range. The company tells HAM that their SWAT Big Wheel can be used with these scopes for greater precision in range-finding, if required.
Leapers True Strength platform means that they can be used on powerful piston air rifles without problems. Together with the Mil Dot reticle, these are fundamental features that benefit airgun shooters!
Both UTG OP3 scopes feature low profile target turrets. These turrets have a low profile and are resettable. Locking rings are included to provide a positive zero lock if required by the user. There are 1.4 MOA click settings for both elevation and windage.
The 3-12X magnification model is just over 10 Inches long and weighs 21.2 Ounces. The 4-16 x version is slightly longer and heavier at about 10.5 Inches and 21.5 Ounces.
Leapers says that these new compact UTG OP3 scopes are IPX7 waterproof rated. This means that they can survive immersion in water up to 3 Feet deep for a duration of up to 30 minutes. The scope tubes are Nitrogen-filled, too.
Both scopes are supplied complete with a 3 Inch sunshade. They are also bundled with medium height Picatinny rings. As expected with Leapers scopes, flip-up front and rear lens caps are included too.
The Leapers product codes and prices are as follows:
UTG OP3 3-12 x 44 scope, Item Number OP3-GM3124UMOA. List Price $224.97.
UTG OP3 4-16 x44 scope, Item Number OP3-GM416UMOA. List Price $239.97.
