This second annual challenge has been over-subscribed for months. There will be over 150 shooters taking part in the excitement!
But if you’re not able to attend, you will be able to read about all the action in Hard Air Magazine. HAM Publisher Stephen Archer will be reporting daily from the shoot.
Highlights include a top prize of $10,000. And if that’s not enough, there’s the chance to meet airgun personalities including Ted Bier, Rick Rehm, Matt Dubber and Giles Barry!
The Garth Killpack Shooting Range in Hobble Creek Canyon is one of the toughest ranges to shoot at. With wind howling down the canyon in the morning and switching back and forth mid-day, this will test competitors patience, skill and adaptability.
There’s a greatly expanded both the number shooting benches and competitors for the Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge 2019, with a wide range of shooting categories.
R.M.A.C 100 Yard Benchrest
Competitors have 30 minutes to shoot 25 targets with 25 shots. The maximum caliber is .30 and mass production diabolo pellets must be used.
The benchrest event will be held in 3 different rounds this year:
- Two Qualifying Rounds at 100 Yards.
- One Final Round at 100 Yards.
Precision Rifle Course
The Precision Marksman Challenge Course is why the Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge was created! Shooters will be required to shoot from a variety of different positions and obstacles (prone, standing, barricades, etc) under time pressure. Most of the targets will be reactive steel.
This event will challenge competitors and the organisers guarantee the best all-around shooters will come out on top.
Speed Challenge
The 2018 RMAC Speed Challenge was probably the most fun and talked about event of the whole competition! The Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge 2019 Speed Challenge will be bigger, faster and more competitive.
There will be a number of different stages set up with different courses of fire. At each stage everyone will draw to be paired against a fellow squad mate. Those two competitors will then race through the outlined course of fire as fast as possible. The winner will then take the points for that stage.
Big Bore/Slug Challenge
Shooters will engage both reactive and paper targets out to 300 Yards. This course will show how powerful and accurate some of these slugging airguns are.
There will be two different classes available:
Magnum Power Class: Above 140 Ft/Lbs of muzzle energy.
Standard Power Class: Below 140 Ft/Lbs of muzzle energy.
The Big Bore class is for airguns of .257 caliber and larger. There’s also a small bore slug gun class for airguns of .30 caliber and under.
25 Meter Benchrest
Competitors will shoot at a total of three, 25-target cards at 20 minutes per round. Calibers of .177, .20 and .22 can be used.
Last, but not least, there’s the opportunity to visit the largest airgun retail showroom in the US at Utah Airguns.
