The UTG Sub Compact Laser Sight, model SCP-LS200 recently arrived here in the HAM offices.
We like it because it’s a low-priced accessory that’s ideal for use on many firearms-replica BB pistols with a Weaver/Picatinny mount, like the SIG AIR 1911 Max Michel pistol shown above and below.
The UTG Sub Compact Laser Sight is very compact. It’s small enough to fit on the very short mounting rails in front of the trigger guard even on small frame models like the M&P 40 and Glock 19, as you can see from these photographs.
The great benefit it offers is the ability to zero the red laser beam to the point of impact. There’s both windage and elevation adjustments built-in to this little unit.
Leapers says that the windage and elevation correction range is as much as 31.5 inches at 11 yards. This should be plenty for and BB pistol…
That’s important because many BB pistols have fixed sights and may not shoot to the point of aim. With the UTG Sub Compact Laser Sight, you now can use the laser beam to guide your shooting.
The manufacturer claims a battery operating time of one hour for a set of four, tiny, LR8 button batteries. The on/off switch is easily accessed at the rear of the unit and this should allow many magazines worth of BB shooting before the laser beam dims.
This is a red laser has two operational modes – solid and pulse/strobe dot. These are selected by pushing the on/off switch for 3 or 4 seconds. Next time the unit is used, it continues in the mode it was in during the last use.
In typical Leapers fashion, a set of batteries is provided with the UTG Sub Compact Laser Sight. There’s also hex wrenches, a compact UTG screwdriver and a surprisingly-comprehensive owner’s manual.
And the price is right for use on BB pistols, too. At a Street Price of under $30, you’re not going to break the bank!
