Major riflescope and accessory manufacturer UTG Leapers has expanded further with the opening of a large new manufacturing facility in Taiwan.
Started in 1992 as a garage business run by David and Tina Ding, CEOs of Leapers, Inc., Leapers is now an international business that spans the globe with manufacturing and distribution facilities in four different countries.
Headquartered in Livonia – in the Metro Detroit area – Leapers, Inc. and its primary brands, UTG PRO and UTG, have expanded their vast product line even further with the grand opening of their UTG Taiwan manufacturing facility.
With the main objective of advanced technology development and improving distribution, supply, and logistical efficiency internationally, establishing UTG Taiwan was the next step after having established both their US based UTG PRO and European based UTG Europe divisions in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
Within a short period of time fresh R&D teams composed of determined graduates from leading mechanical and technological universities were recruited along with the hiring of governmental weapon and optics R&D specialists. UTG Leapers Taiwan is now the home to world class Japanese Fanuc and Brother CNC machines, Tsugami 6-axis Swiss machines, Fanuc polymer injection molding, and Fanuc and Yushin robotics.
With this high level of both semi and fully automated manufacturing operations, UTG Leapers aims to meet the international demand for quality shooting sports related products. In addition, to ensure industrial and mil-spec standards, the facility is equipped with German precision inspection and testing equipment. This allows the company to manage stringent quality control testing, validation, and certification requirements.
Products to be expected out of UTG Taiwan will cater to both US domestic and international customers and are to include a unique range of high quality mounts and sights. In addition, the company is planning new generation magazines, advanced electronic applications, OEM components, and in time, a line of integrated optics.
The global UTG Leapers organization with its integrated R&D, production, and distribution aims to sow the seed of its unique business culture in Taiwan. This further investment in people, process, and technology; allows UTG Taiwan to provide its loyal customers around the world with complete and total solutions.
